Member Spotlight
MCP's Member Spotlight gives all members the opportunity to show their photographic work in the Member Spotlight Gallery. This is the only un-curated space in the center, and allows artists to show old, new, or experimental work to the photographic community.
Each Member Spotlight is exhibited in the Member Spotlight Gallery for 3 weeks, beginning and ending on Thursdays. The installation and de-installation is the responsibility of the artist, but MCP will supply equipment/materials for the installation. Each Member Spotlight Artist will receive a contract with all details and policies well in advance of the show.
MCP has created a new and enlarged space for Member Spotlight as of November 2007! The new space has two facing walls in the passage way between MCP's main gallery and MCP's multi-purpose room. The west wall is 7 feet wide by 7 feet tall (from floor) and the east wall measures 9 feet wide by 7 feet tall (from floor) - members are welcome to arrange their work as they see fit in this space.
Sign-up is on a first come, first serve basis. Members are allowed only one Member Spotlight per year, and must be an active member of MCP at the time of sign-up and during the duration of the show. Occasionally the sign-up is put on hold if the schedule is more than one year out.
+spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
We are not currently reserving spots for Member Spotlight, but we are taking names for a waiting list. The waiting list will be the first to receive spots once we open sign-up.
To sign-up for a Member Spotlight, contact Jes Schrom, Gallery and Education Coordinator at jes@mncp.org or 612.824.5500
